Participant 4: To Come
This roundtable is a part of an exciting initiative: a cross-conference roundtable bringing together scholars who identify with Business History with those who identify with Labor History. Representatives from both the BHC and LAWCHA collaborated to create two roundtables for these associations’ respective 2025 conferences. The chair and some of the panelists will be on both panels in the hopes of generating more connections between two important fields that should overlap more.
This roundtable has clear goals but is not yet finished. We had a fourth participant, Nelson Lichtenstein, who had to drop out just before the submission deadline. We are actively working for another senior scholar to join a panel dedicated to discussing the similarities and differences of the two fields. Panelists will be discussing how their own work has been at the intersections of these two fields, how these fields have been developing, and how these two fields could advance various intellectual projects through dialogue.
