Patryk Babiracki

Associate Professor, University of Texas at Arlington

Cold War history

Patryk Babiracki is an associate professor of history and MA Program Director at the University of Texas at Arlington. An award-winning researcher and teacher, Babiracki published widely on Russian, European and global histories and contemporary affairs. He is currently exploring the potential of "applied history," i.e. the uses of history in business, tech and public policy, and how that potential can be leveraged to articulate the value of the humanities within universities and in the private sector. With this in mind, he started a podcast titled "Practical History," taught a class that under that same title and co-authored (in 2024) a piece in The Chronicle of Higher Education titled "The ROI of a History Degree."
