Han Zhang is a historian of medicine and a life science consultant. She serves as a Benefactors Scholar at the University of Cambridge, and formally as an Ertegun Scholar at the University of Oxford. She earned her BA in Public Health Studies, East Asian Studies, Natural Sciences Area, and History of Science, Medicine, and Technology at Johns Hopkins University, before coming to the UK for her MSc and MPhil degrees in the history of medicine. As a scholar, she is passionate about applying interdisciplinary medical humanities to decolonizing global health practices. Her work on the history of global health governance was published in the Oxford Handbook of International Institutions.
