Ph.D. candidate in History at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), holds an M.A. in Social History from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), and is a CAPES Fellow. He serves as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Harriet Tubman Institute for Research on Africa and Its Diasporas at York University (Canada) and is a member of the Brazilian Association of Economic History (ABPHE).
His research focuses on Brazilian economic and business history, with particular emphasis on the relationships between slavery, industry, domestic markets, technology, and economic development during the nineteenth century. His work explores the connections between business activity, enslaved labor, and economic development from both comparative and international perspectives.
