Dr Chen Yang is a part-time lecturer at the University of Southampton. She obtained her PhD from the University of Kent in 2025, where her thesis examined the regulation of peer-to-peer lending. Currently, her research centres on the regulation of financial services markets and extends to company and commercial law, as well as emerging questions concerning the regulation of artificial intelligence. She approaches these areas through the lens of consumer protection, situating her analysis within broader debates on social justice and examining how legal frameworks can both enable innovation and protect vulnerable groups in rapidly evolving markets.
