Nahomi Linda Esquivel is a PhD Candidate in the University of Chicago's History Department. She is a former labor organizer and the former program coordinator for Chicago's Sanctuary Working Group, a solidarity cooperative that supports and accompanies migrants in their journey toward sustainable independence. Her scholarship examines the linkages between agricultural labor, borderland development, and legal informality. Nahomi is a first-generation college graduate and an avid bird watcher.
