History of technology, Industrialization, Chemical Industry, Culture Industries and Markets, 20th century, 19th century, United States

I study the industrial history of how and what we see. Working across the disciplines of history, science and technology studies, and media studies, my research focuses on how moving images came to dominate our visual field across the 20th century—a development that occurred through extractive and industrial processes on a global scale.
