Thomas is Professor of International History at the University of Lausanne.
His research focuses on the actors shaping global capitalism in the 19th and 20th centuries, particularly economic elites, corporate networks and business associations. He is currently working on a book "Business of the World, Unite! The International Chamber of Commerce and Global Capitalism in the Twentieth Century" which traces the role of business in economic global governance since 1919.
