Maria Carmela Schisani is a Full Professor of Economic History in the Department of Economics and Statistics at the University of Naples Federico II, where she teaches Economic History and Financial History. Her research focuses on Italian banking and financial markets in the 19th and 20th centuries, international banking (haute banque), and business history, with a particular emphasis on applying network analysis to historical business and financial data.
She has published extensively on business networks in Southern Italy, with her work appearing in leading scientific journals such as Cliometrica, Business History, and the European Review of Economic History, as well as in volumes issued by major national and international publishers.
