Roundtable: Synergies between Business History and Accounting History Research

Researchers in business history often discover financial and accounting archives during their research experience, and may wish to add financial or accounting information to enrich their papers. How can a business historian use this data to add a different angle or perspective to their research? The purpose of our roundtable panel is to provide opportunities for business historians to consider adding or merging accounting history into their research, as well as accounting historians to enhance their depth of business history. Our discussion would include information on how to conduct accounting history, content and links to our accounting history library at the University of Mississippi, co-authorship opportunities, and an overview of publication in the Accounting Historians' Journal. The panel participants include a business historian, two accounting historians, and the editor of the Accounting Historians' Journal. We encourage a lively conversation with the audience in our quest to enhance our research synergies within our disciplines.
