Business, Firms and Cities in Twentieth-Century India (Part II)

This proposed panel comprises of researchers based across three continents working on different aspects of the business history of India in the 20th century. In particular, it presents the latest work on emerging themes such as corporate strategies and city-business relations. Papers use quantitative and qualitative research methods and dig into rare archival material to present a fresh look on business practices, specific firms and cities in India in the 20th century. There are 7 papers and we would like to conduct this panel over two sessions.
[India has traditionally been under-represented at BHC events and this is perhaps one of the first time ever that a panel exclusively on India could feature at BHC.]
