2023 BHC's Mentoring Week (March 6 to 10)

Dear BHC Member,

In support of this year’s annual meeting, the Emerging Scholars Committee is hosting a Mentoring Week (March 6 to 10) for newcomers to the BHC. One element of this initiative is our Mentoring Program, which pairs emerging business historians with seasoned BHC members who are willing to provide one-on-one advice on career matters and on how to make the most of an annual meeting.

We encourage mentees and mentors to connect during Mentoring Week in a format of their choice, meeting virtually prior to the conference or making arrangements for getting together on-site in Detroit. Typically, mentoring conversations last for up to one hour. While mentees receive tips on topics that range from research and teaching in business history to networking at the BHC, mentors share their insights and play a proactive role in rejuvenating our association. We are sure: It’s a win-win.

Please click the link below and complete our brief survey, which asks you about your desired role (mentee or mentor), your thematic preferences, and your contact information (to put mentees and mentors in touch with each other). We would be delighted to hear from all BHC newcomers and veterans! Please submit your responses by February 3, 2023.
