Luciano Maffi is Associate Professor in Economic History at the University of Parma. He also teaches Economic History at the University “Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” in Milan. He was previously a Lecturer at University of Salento in Lecce (2020-2021) and a research fellow at the Bocconi University in Milano (2020), at the University of Genoa (2017-2020) and at the University of Brescia (2011-2013). In 2014-2015 he was a visiting research at the Blackfriars Hall of the Oxford University. He deals with economic, financial and social history, with particular attention to the private bankers in XIX century. His studies also primary sector and the food production in the Early Modern and Modern history and the history of tourism, especially in relation to demographic trends and to infrastructural and economic changes of the Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries. Another topic of his research is tourism history and disability.
