Jacob Beckert is the Postdoctoral Fellow in American Jewish Economic History at Tulane University. His research examines American Jewish investment in Mandate Palestine and the ways that capitalism, conflict, and development in the region were connected to the wider world of American empire. He is currently working on his first book, Financial Frontiers: American Capital, Palestine, and the Making of Global Empire.
