A scholar of Latin American 20th century economic history, my book project Light and Power: Energy and Development in the Mexican Miracle is a history of Mexico's power industry. It examines International Financial Institutions' influence over the developing world, the centrality of electricity to late-comer industrialization, and the politics of financing and lending. I received my PhD from the University of Chicago in 2026.
