I am a historian of globalization, the Cold War and European integration. I earned my PhD from the European University Institute in 2024, with a thesis on the 1970s global economic crisis and its role in the collapse of the Franco regime and the emergence of international cooperation over democratic Spain. The revised manuscript of this dissertation is currently under contract with the University of North Carolina Press (InterConnections series).

Building on this expertise, I am currently starting a comparative study of Spain, Greece, and Portugal. I ask why Southern Europe’s dictatorships collapsed in the mid-1970s, how the global economic crisis shaped their transitions, and which legacies of these crises remain visible today.

I am Adjunct Professor at Comillas Pontifical University and serve as Editor-at-Large at Toynbee Prize Foundation. In September 2026, I will join Complutense University of Madrid as a Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Researcher, before joining Sciences Po Paris as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow in September 2027.
