Xavier is a business and economic historian specializing in the Spanish chocolate industry and family firms. He obtained his PhD in Economic History at the University of Barcelona (cum laude) and is the author of a forthcoming monograph with Emerald’s Frontiers of Management History series. His research interests include industrialization, gender and labor history, semiotics of advertising, and entrepreneurial philanthropy. He lectures in International Business and Economic History at Pompeu Fabra University.
