Business Historians at Business Schools
Yusaku Takeda is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior and Business Law at the Gies College of Business, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research connects organizational theory, economic sociology, and business history to examine how firms respond to—and shape—political, ideological, and technological change. He focuses on organizational nationalism, drawing on historical research in Japan and the United States to study how nationalist ideas shape firms’ values, strategies, and identities over time. He is a co-founder of the Nation and Nationalism Research Network (NNRN), an interdisciplinary community studying nationalism in business, society, and politics. He holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University and a B.A. from Wesleyan University.
