Lis Riveros

Ph.D. Candidate , University of Cambridge

Lobbying, history of advertising and consumer culture, Social and Cultural
Women in Business History

I am a PhD candidate at Gonville and Caius College, University of Cambridge, researching the political and cultural history of the English brewing industry. My doctoral thesis explores the role of business in shaping political and cultural life, with particular focus on corporate lobbying, business–state relations, Conservative Party politics, and the Americanisation of British advertising and public relations in the mid-twentieth century. I am Co-Convenor of the University of Cambridge Modern British History Workshop and Coordinating Editor of 'Doing History in Public' magazine.
