I study the history of gender, work, and social movements in the United States. My dissertation, tentatively titled “The Price of Parenthood: US Childcare Policy and the Limits of Liberalism, 1969-1996,” explores how politicians, business leaders, activists, and media reshaped the political possibilities for childcare in the late twentieth century.
