Zhaojin Zeng

Zhaojin Zeng is an Assistant Professor of History at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. As a historian of modern China and East Asia, Zeng's research and teaching focus on transnational economic, business, and industrial history, digital humanities, and quantitative analysis. His current book project, Engineering Modern China: Industrial Factories and the Transformation of the Chinese Economy in the Twentieth Century, examines the role of industrial factories in the intertwined processes of economic transition, technological change and state-building from the late Qing to post-Mao eras. His journal articles have appeared in World Development and Entreprises et Histoire, and his research has received funding from Harvard University, Harvard Business School, the D. Kim Foundation, the Association for Asian Studies, and the Business History Conference, among others. Zeng holds his Ph.D. in History (2018) from the University of Texas at Austin.
