Chris Abdul Hakim Martinez is a PhD student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) working at the intersection of histories of decolonization and development in 20th century West Africa. His research explores the history and political economy of extractive industries, industrial development, labor militancy, and radical Pan-Africanism in Guinée Conakry.
