Tsz Ho Wong is a PhD student in East Asian Studies at the University of Edinburgh. He earned a BA from the University of Hong Kong (2021) and a MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2022). He is particularly interested in the history of modern East Asia with focuses on intellectual history, economic history and histories of science and technology in Japan and China from the mid-nineteenth century to the early Cold War (roughly from 1840s to 1950s). He has great passion in applying digital tools in his research. His masters thesis explored the Japanese propaganda and telecommunication networks at the end of World War II. Currently, he is working on the capital and power elites networks in the wartime Japanese Empire, and the life of a sinicised Mongolian female writer Liang Yen (梁琰, a.k.a Margaret Yang Briggs, born as Yang Chiao-Chu 楊巧珠).
