Daniel Rust

Assistant Professor, University of Wisconsin-Superior

Transportation
Business Historians at Business Schools

I earned my PhD in History (specializing in Transportation History) at the University of Idaho under the direction of Dr. Carlos A. Schwantes, and served as the assistant director of the Center for Transportation Studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis from 2003-2016. While my research interests span all modes of transportation, I have a particular interest in commerical aviation.  In 2009, the University of Oklahoma Press published my first book, Flying Across America: the Airline Passenger Experience. The Missouri History Museum Press published my latest book in 2016 entitled, The Aerial Crossroads of America: St. Louis's Lambert Airport.  I am currently an assistant professor of Transportation & Logistics in the School of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
