Mark J Crowley is Professor of Business History at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. Previously, he was a visiting scholar at Harvard University, and Associate Professor of History at Wuhan University, China. He is a graduate of Cardiff University, the University of Oxford and the University of London. His research and publications are in the field of modern British business history, with a specific focus on women’s employment in the British Post Office in the Second World War. He is currently researching two areas: the British coalmining industry in the first half of the twentieth century, and Britain’s relationship with China in the Second World War, with a specific focus on cooperative societies and the boycott movement.
