Lloyd Melusi Maphosa is a business historian who studies the evolution of business in the Cape Colony during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. His research revolves around the impact of limited liability in the Cape Colony with a specific focus on how it led to the expansion of the colonial private capital market and the proliferation of joint stock companies.
