Business History professor at the Universidad Privada Boliviana. Bolivian economic historian trained at the London School of Economics (MA 1980) and Columbia University (PhD 1990). Member of the Bolivian Academy of History and recently authored El surgimiento de la ingeniería en Bolivia: Formación y ejercicio de la profesión, 1900-1964 (La Paz; Plural editors, 2022).  My current research focuses on the economic and social history of railways in Bolivia from 1880 to 2020, business history, and the history and policy of Bolivian education in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
