Cory Fischer-Hoffman is an interdisciplinary scholar, educator, media maker, and oral historian living in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley (Lenapehoking). She has a Phd in Latin American, Caribbean & US Latino Studies from the University of Albany, a MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Kansas, and a BA in Political Economy from The Evergreen State College. As a Professor, she taught at various colleges and universities for over a decade, largely in International Affairs, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Media Studies, and History. Her book about the Bethlehem Steel Corporation's mining operations in Latin America, The Business of Moving Dirt: Frontiers of Extraction, Infrastructures of Globalization will be published by University of Pittsburgh Press in 2027. She was awarded both a Fulbright and the NEH-Hagley Fellowship on Business, Culture and Society to conduct her research on Bethlehem Steel’s mining history in Latin America.
