Liat Spiro is an assistant professor of History at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA with interests in histories of engineering and infrastructure imperialism; intellectual property regimes; and international political economy and development politics. Most of her work focuses on the United States and Germany over the long nineteenth century.
She received her PhD from Harvard in 2019 with a dissertation entitled "Drawing Capital: Depiction, Machine Tools, and the Political Economy of Industrial Knowledge, 1824-1914."
