In the business and economic history, the labor sector analysis has been left out of a detailed study. It should be considered the importance that workers represents inside of a company. Business history has mainly focused on the strategies study that allow enterprises work and entrepreneurs grow. In the other hand, labor historians have mainly focused on the workers movements analysis and the continued improvement of work conditions. In this sense, should be go deeper the worker importance in the company’s development and its relationship with internal changes. The historiography has focused on analyze specially the productive sector, but it would be important analyze the service sector as well; mainly, the bank’s system. We stand for that the study of the work’s conditions of a labor sector can be enriched if different organizations methods of the enterprises where people work are considered, it means, experimented transformations of a business impact in the work situation and workers.
This presentation proposes talk about the case of the banking labor sector in Mexico between 1920 and 1940. It will be exposed how Mexican bank reconstruction, after the movement in 1910, was mainly caused by the enterprises strategies that were adopted by the bankers, supported by the State, to their workers.
Through the paternalismo bancario concept given by Flores González, the bank worker enjoyed a preferential labor conditions like certain salary level, qualification, employment benefits and retirement scheme that differentiate it from another work groups at the end of the Mexican Revolution in 1910. This worked as a method to create a reliable workforce, besides reducing the idea of Unions unlike its peers in Argentina, Brazil, Spain or Uruguay,
