Saša Vejzagić

PhD Candidate, European University Institute


Business and social history of socialist systems

Saša Vejzagić is a PhD student since 2015 at the European University Institute in Florence working on the topic: "The Rise of a Socialist Business Class: The Role of Economic and Managerial Elite in Socialist Yugoslavia, 1963-1991". He is interested in economic, business, political, labor and social history of the 20th century with a focus on Yugoslav socialism. Prior to the PhD program he earned his BA degree (2008) and MA degree (2011) in History from the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, and the second MA degree in Central European History from the Central European University in Budapest (2013). Saša is also a volunteer assistant at the Centre for Cultural and Historical Research of Socialism in Pula.
