Grace Dutt is an American Studies doctoral student at the University of Manchester under the supervision of Professor Peter Knight and Dr Gordon Fraser. She has recently completed her Masters in English Literature and American Studies, with distinction, at the University of Manchester. Grace is committed to recovering and understanding the role of empire in shaping economics and culture. Understanding the relationship between finance and imperialism is the core to her research. Her PhD research is fully funded by AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council) through the NWCDTP (Northwest Consortium for Doctoral Training Partnerships).
