Catharina Haensel

Catharina Haensel is a Ph.D researcher at the Scuola Normale Superiore (Italy) and the University of Goettingen (Germany). Her project focuses on the emergence of Indian wage policies from the 1930s until the 1960s, with a special emphasis on the textile industry of Ahmedabad. She holds an MSc. in Development Studies from SOAS, London and a BA in Economics and Modern Indian Studies from the University of Göttingen. Catharina also works as a freelance journalist, with her work appearing in Die Welt, Jungle World, Scroll.in and Internazionale, among others.
