Abstract
"Facts and Fiction – Taking Inspiration from the Novel"
Anders Sørensen, Copenhagen Business School (ars.mpp@cbs.dk)Constructing historical narratives is creative writing, and historians often, deliberately or unwittingly, borrow elements from fiction. In his presentation Anders asks what historians might learn from the novelist’s craft? He explores how forms and techniques from fiction can open new ways of writing company and organizational history. Anniversary books often focus on strategy, structure, and leadership—but what if we borrowed the novelist’s tools of voice, rhythm, and emotional perspective to make historical experience more vivid and complex?
